Competition Details:

The JA of South Dakota Student Competition is a virtual team strategy competition using the JA Titan computer simulation program.

Winners of the December and April competitions will be eligible to advance to the national JA Titan Virtual Competition to try to become the national JA Titan Champion!

The statewide competition will provide students the opportunity to compete against their high school peers from across the state of South Dakota in a virtual environment.

During the competition, similar to the in-classroom experience, each student team will act as the Senior Management Team of their Holo-Generator company. Teams will go head-to-head as they strive to make informed, intelligent business decisions in running their own global, virtual business.

Competition Logistics:

Up to two teams per JA Titan class can participate during a semester challenge.  We recommend that the top scoring team(s) from each class move on to compete in the competition.

Each student team can consist of two to four eligible students.

The competition consists of a Preliminary and Final Championship round.

 Preliminary Round:

  •      Each team that registers will be assigned a game. (The number of games will depend on the number of teams that sign up.  Maximum of 8 teams per game.)
  •       Game consists of 8-12 quarters, two decisions must be made each day for up to six days.  One decision needs to be made by Noon CST (11 am MT) and the other decision needs to be made by 5:00 pm CST (4:00 pm MT).

 Final Championship Round:

  •   The 1st place team from each game in the Preliminary Round will compete in the Final Championship.
  •   Game consists of 8-12 quarters, two decisions must be made each day for up to six days.  One decision needs to be made by Noon CST (11 am MT) and the other decision needs to be made by 5:00 pm CST (4:00 pm MT).
